Cyanotype Lantern

Join us at Wild Rose Brewery for a hands-on cyanotype workshop where you’ll create your own unique illuminated lantern.

During the workshop, you’ll learn the basics of cyanotype printing and use the process to create four individual designs on Japanese rice paper. You’ll then assemble your own four-sided wooden lantern and add your finished panels to create a one-of-a-kind piece that comes to life when illuminated.

You can create your designs using a selection of objects and shapes provided at the workshop, or make your lantern truly personal with your own images. Send me your photos ahead of time and I’ll prepare them as cyanotype-ready transparencies for you to use during the workshop. Feature your favourite people, pets, places, or anything else you’d love to see transformed into cyanotype!

No previous cyanotype experience is needed, and I’ll guide you through the process from start to finish.
